Scranton: A double-header split tonight – first game was a 4-3 loss; the nightcap was a 4-1 victory. Jesus Montero (who else?) actually played in both games, going 4-for-8 with a double, home run, three runs batted in, and two runs scored. He is hitting .288 with 31 doubles, three triples, 19 home runs, and

Scranton: Not much to write about tonight for Scranton, as they were only able to produce four hits in a 6-0 loss. Jesus Montero went 1-for-4, while Kevin Russo went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Montero’s slugging percentage dipped below .500 as his line now reads .284/.352/.495. That’s it. Lance Pendleton started, and

With the season winding down, some prospects may disappear as the Yankees shut them down. Jose Ramirez, a 20-year old who pitched very well for Charleston this year, is one such prospect. He started tiring in his last several starts, so they pulled the plug. He threw 115 innings this year, nearly twice his previous

Scranton: Jesus Montero sure as heck is trying to make the Yankees’ decision in September a tough one. Montero went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four runs batted in, while DJ Mitchell provided seven innings of one hit ball in a 5-1 Scranton win. Montero is at .288/.357/.504 on the year with 30 doubles,

Scranton: Not much hitting here tonight – but they were able to split a double-header anyway. Scranton only scored two runs in the 14 innings – luckily for them, they both came in the same game and they won it 2-1. Jesus Montero went 1-for-4 in the opener (4-0 loss). He didn’t play in the

First off, Scranton reliever Romulo Sanchez has been placed on the disabled list. Sanchez has a legit shot to make it to the Yankees sometime in September, so let’s hope it isn’t too serious. —————————- Scranton: Lance Pendleton threw seven shutout innings, while Juan Miranda drove in a couple of runs with a double in

It will take a 2007 Mets like collapse for them to not make the International League playoffs. ————————————————— Trenton: Trenton is also 76-51, 3.5 games up on New Hampshire. Coming into the 2010 season, most people believed Zach McAllister was the Yankees’ most-ready pitching prospect. Coming off of a strong 2009 season in Trenton, McAllister was only 22 years old coming into the season…and pitching in Triple-A. That’s an impressive feat. But after his big 2009 campaign – 7-5, 2.23 ERA, 121 IP, 98

Draft Update: Not much to report as the signing deadline nears. As of this moment, 4th rounder Mason Williams just signed..supposedly for $1.45 million. Williams is a very highly regarded high-schooler, who had a commitment to USC. You can probably scratch off Josh Dezse, which is a major loss for the Yankees in my opinion.
