Over the past month we have been banging our heads against the wall due to our hosting costs going up 400%. We have been trying to figure out a way to keep hosting our free blogs but unfortunately we can’t. Due to the cost of hosting and the problems we have had with spammers on our free blogging platform, we have decided to stop supporting it. As of 12/12 we will be deleting all free blogs.
If you have a premium blog with us, nothing will change. In fact, it’s only going to get better ….
If you have a free blog with us, you have 2 options, the first will be to upgrade your account to SportsBlogNet Premium. You can go here to do that while logged in: http://sportsblognet.com/pro-site/.
As a reminder here are the benefits of Premium:
- No Ads
- Hook up your your own domain name that you have purchased through a site like Godaddy.com
- Premium Plugins
- Your Posts on SportsBlogNet’s front page, facebook page, twitter account, and coming soon (enewsletter)
- Priority Support
- Premium Themes to make your blog as professional as possible
Go here to Upgrade while logged in: http://sportsblognet.com/pro-site
If you would not like to upgrade but want to keep your blog posts, then you will want to go to Tools–>Export in the backend of sportsblognet to export your blog contents out of the Sportsblognet Platform. You will be able to import this file into another blog platform.
If you don’t think you can make the decision within a week, please let us know and we will try and work something out with you.
It has truly been an honor to support all our free bloggers over the past 3 years since we launched in May of 2008 and I can’t wait to continue the growth of our premium bloggers.
