The 2010 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri on March 10th through the 13th. The Big 12 basketball tournament is held at the conclusion of every season to declare the conference champion and award the Big 12’s automatic berth for the NCAA Tournament. Since the Big 12 tournament has been in existence (1997), there have been a number of Final Four teams to play in the tournament.
The 2010 Big 12 tournament will be featuring the #1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks who have been atop the college basketball rankings for much of the 2009-10 NCAA basketball season. The top 4 seeds will receive byes in the tournament. At the time of this writing, Kansas State, Texas A & M, Baylor, Texas, and Missouri are all in the thick of the race to obtain the 2nd through 4th seeds in the tournament. Oklahoma State could rise to obtain a 4 seed with a little help over the remainder of the season as well.
