Not much going on in sports right now, so here are a few fringe stories.
The Yankees appear to have much competition for bullpen spots. To some, this might suggest that the late innings will be a rocky time in the Bronx this season. Most championship bullpens, however, are comprised of a few established relievers and a collection of no-names performing at their peaks. Numerous reports have indicated that Brian Bruney has lost a substantial amount of weight and has a new outlook on his work. Look for him to have a big year. The NFL Combine took place on Sunday. Why it was televised on ESPN, the world may never know. Many high-profile athletes entering the draft don’t even participate because their draft stock can only be hurt by doing so. I’d rather glance over the times and numbers than watch hundreds of players perform the same menial task over and over again. Derek Jeter said that he wants baseball players to be blood tested for HGH. I have to say, I’m with him. Jeter noted that players already have blood work done at the beginning of spring training....Comments
